tcgindex and Amber Road: two price indexes compared

tcgindex and Amber Road do a similar job: they don't sell cards, they help you understand what they are worth. The difference is the market they look at: tcgindex starts from US prices, in dollars; Amber Road starts from European prices, in euro, and sets them beside the American ones.

What tcgindex offers

tcgindex follows 14 card games, including Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Lorcana, with prices in dollars from the US market, daily analysis and cards to watch. Part of its features is reserved for the paid plan.

If you follow many different games and think in dollars, it covers more titles than Amber Road.

What Amber Road offers

Amber Road covers two games, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, but looks at them from the point of view of someone buying in Europe: value in euro, European and American sales kept apart, prices by card language, condition and edition, history and graded cards.

It is in Italian and English, it is free, and beside prices it has eBay deals shipped from the European Union, alerts on the cards you follow and the catalogue of sealed products by expansion.

Which one to use

If you buy and sell in Europe, the price you need is the European one in euro: that is what Amber Road puts at the centre. If you also want to keep an eye on the American market or on games Amber Road doesn't have yet, the two sites can be used together.
