Cardmarket: what it is, how it works and how Amber Road is different
Cardmarket is the most used online trading card marketplace in Europe: thousands of sellers, private and shops, list their cards and you buy directly from them. Amber Road is not another marketplace: it is where you check what a card is worth before buying it, on Cardmarket or elsewhere.

How Cardmarket works
Every card has a page with all the sellers' offers, sorted by price, language and condition. You pick an offer, pay through the site and the seller ships you the card. For higher-value orders Cardmarket can hold the payment until you confirm arrival.
Sellers pay a commission on the price of the cards; buyers pay the cards and each seller's shipping. The current conditions are on Cardmarket's official fees page.
What you don't find on Cardmarket
Cardmarket shows the prices of its own marketplace. It doesn't tell you what the same card costs in the United States or on eBay, and it doesn't warn you when a cheaper listing is somewhere else.
When you buy from several sellers you pay shipping to each one: on small orders that can weigh more than the cards.
How Amber Road is different
Amber Road doesn't sell cards and takes no commission on purchases. For every Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! card it shows the market value in euro, with completed sales in Europe and in the United States kept apart from active listings, and a chart of how the price has moved.
It also points out eBay listings below market value, alerts you when a card you follow drops in price, and has a catalogue of sealed products with contents, release date and value.
Using them together
Check on Amber Road what the card is worth and how its price has moved in the last months; then buy where the offer is best, Cardmarket included. If the price you see is far above market value, you know you can wait or look elsewhere.
