Cardmarket or CardTrader? The differences for card buyers

Cardmarket and CardTrader are the two online marketplaces European collectors most often buy single cards on. They do the same thing, putting sellers and buyers in touch, but in different ways: the biggest difference is how the cards reach you.

When Cardmarket is better

Cardmarket generally has the largest number of offers per card in Europe, so it is often where you find the lowest price for a single card or for a few cards from the same seller.

The limit is shipping: if the cards you want are spread among many sellers, you pay shipping to each one.

When CardTrader is better

CardTrader Zero is handy when you need many different cards: you take them from different sellers, also outside the European Union, and receive them in one parcel, after a check at CardTrader's hub.

In exchange, the price of single cards can be a little higher, and you have to wait for all the cards to reach the hub before shipping.

How to really compare prices

The lowest price on one site doesn't say whether it is a good price. On Amber Road you see the market value of every Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! card, worked out every day from the public data of several marketplaces, these two included, with the history of the last months.

Check the card there, then buy where the offer is best: sometimes on Cardmarket, sometimes on CardTrader, sometimes in an eBay listing below price that you find on the Deals page.
